Our Story:
Coffee Makes Everything Better
Morgantown, West Virginia is only the newest chapter in the coffee story of founders Sebastian Sepúlveda Cartes, and Sara Boltralik of SABO Coffee Roasters. We are thrilled to bring our passion, specialty roasted coffee, to Sara’s hometown. However, SABO began over a decade prior in Santiago, Chile. Sebastian, his mother Marianela and sister Francisca began their coffee journey in a downtown cafe/restaurant where they blended culture, music, cuisine and good vibes. After many successful years Sebastian decided to dive further into the world of specialty coffee and pursued his first coffee roaster. Since then he has studied worldwide courses of roasting, barista, brewing, cupping, and latte art. They changed directions and since 2015 have perfected the art of coffee roasting.
Sara is a mixologist and coffee fanatic. She moved to Chile in 2016 where she and Sebastian began to infuse their backgrounds into coffee preparations and culture. They have been fascinated by the world of specialty coffee, its delicacies and nuances ever since. That is to say, at SABO Coffee Roasters, we are complete coffee nerds. We want our clients to experience the potential sensations coffee can deliver. QUALITY and FRESHNESS are our secret ingredients, and that’s why you’ll notice a shining difference in our selection of coffees.
We appreciate the remarkable coffee chain that brings coffee to you every day. We recognize the farmers and their efforts who work endlessly so that coffee plantations produce year after year, and season after season. When you participate in our coffee chain, you are enhancing the connections that go back to these plantations and the people who manage them, which in turn improves quality in every aspect. We exclusively support responsible and sustainable co-ops.
Why SABO? This is somewhat a combination of our names, but also a pronunciation error, turned joke. At this point either of us will respond to “Sabo”, however we believe it is a nice way to encompass our Latin American roots, which also represents a large portion of the coffee belt we so greatly enjoy.

Our Goal: bring you the best coffee. This is why we work diligently to source quality beans, and manufacture them with high-quality equipment. We roast on a Probat Probatone 12. We wish our clients have the best possible experience, from cup to customer service.

We use reusable/recyclable bags and encourage those who can, to come and refill their bags or containers. Every effort counts, and we hope to only better the world with our coffee company.
